Info rettet til Danske opdrættere - MOBIL DYRLÆGE
Saturday, 4th September 2010 - 23:13

New FIFe Ch. & BIS-winner Alomi's Oliver
Monday, 26th July 2010 - 13:04
Oliver is a Red Tabby Exotic male (non-CPC) that I for a split second considered keeping. But... Concentrating on my Himmies and Pointed Exotic program, made me decide to let him to. I want to thank his owner Vibekka for taking perfectly care of him! Oliver enjoys life as a king of the house with Vibekka. Also Vibekka's care and attention shows in the way Oliver presents himself. Thank You, Vibekka, for showing him to perfection..... But first of all for being the perfect mum for Oliver!

Alomi's Orange Julius (red Persian CPC) is being shown in Florida this weekend...
Sunday, 3rd January 2010 - 13:11
He is going to Hong Kong, but making "a stayover" with Jay @ the Compri cattery. Jay took him to an 8-ring show in Florida this weekend. Yesterday (saturday) Julius made 2nd best kitten in one ring and 8th best in another ring. Today (sunday) is 5 rings more to go. He is too young to Grand, but it is my sincere hope that he'll eventually Grand for Jay.
Letting that male kitten go was heart-wrenching, since he stayed here for almost 6 months, and keeping them for that long just gets you more and more attached to them. However I do find comfort in first of all that he is in the BEST HANDS IN THE WORLD, and secondly I kept his littersister..... Alomi's Purrl (tortie CPC):-) |

Web-site updated today......
Sunday, 3rd January 2010 - 13:00
Although it's freezing (-8 degrees celcius) today the weather was fabulous, which made the light perfect for a little photo-session. In the kitten section You'll find a black CPC male kitten that I'm letting go, since I kept other males this year. In the Exotic section You'll find new pics of my two newest keepers: Alomi's Koo-Koo Unleashed & Alomi's X-Travagonzo - Both Red Tabby Exotic CPC.

Sunday, 11th October 2009 - 12:36
Thank You to the Bech-Hansen family for generously allowing Willy to stay with me on a permanent basis! I consider Willy to be one of the alltime best producing males I've used in my Himalayan-program. His sire is Ch. Alomi's Ali Baba of Tallin (bluepoint litterbrother of GC RW Alomi's Zillion Dollar Baby DM & GC Alomi's Charles Aznavoyeur of Grovewood & Gr.Int.Ch. Alomi's Million Dollar Baby of Forgeron DM - 3 GC and 2 DM in the same litter). Willy's dam is a wonderfull GC female from Tony Davis' famous JETSET-line, which produced a multitude of GC + NW. See Willy's full pedigree in the Himalayan-section of this website.

Pics from North Carolina.....
Tuesday, 6th October 2009 - 11:59
......Now uploaded at the GALLERY-page. For your pleasant view!
|
It just crossed my mind.....
Saturday, 3rd October 2009 - 17:11
...That I should send a message to everyone interested in BLUE-EYED WHITE PERSIANS. During my stay in North Carolina I visited the FURR-B cattery (link can be found at the linkpage of this site). Not even in my time as a FIFe-judge have I seen better/deeper blue eyecolour on a BE/white Persian as the eyecolour I saw in the FURR-B cattery. Need to add... This intens blue eyecolour was on all the whites I saw in Barbara and Rogers house! Congratulations Barbara and Roger with the tremendous work You've done with the BE/whites. And thank You for the wonderful evening!
|
Came home from USA/North Carolina this morning.
Saturday, 3rd October 2009 - 16:51
It took 23 hours to get from Raleigh to Copenhagen (via Washington), and the weather in Copenhagen was "LATE AUTUMNISH" when we arrived home. Cold, rainy and windy. Exhausted and at the same time glad to be home. Need some sleep. No, need A LOT of sleep..... And I'm not able to, because I didn't come home from just another vacation. I actually came home from the best vacation I ever had. Have pictures to be processed. A lot of pictures! And I'll put them on this site soon. Very soon......
Stayed with Jay & John/Compri cattery at their Alpaca-farm. Will never forget their hospitality, their generousity, all the laughs, the mountains, the waterfalls and......the cats! I knew there were good cats in the Compri cattery, cause I'm already blessed with some. However, the quality in that house just gets better and better. In the plane on my way home this morning I realized that I haven't taken one single picture of a cat during my stay in North Carolina. For some reason I didn't even think of it. Will however never (EVER!) forget some of the cats I handled there.
ZANK You Jay & John! |

I was thrilled to receive the news about her DM-title this morning, and I send my warmest congratulations and THANK YOU to Joke & Ab for doing so well with her.

Bathing-Saturday
Saturday, 12th September 2009 - 14:39
How much shampoo did I purchase THIS year in order to just try something new on the coats of my cats? How much did YOU purchase? I guess we all are constantly looking for THE shampoo that will turn our cats into the top-show-dressed animal, that will sweep all the judges of their feet. And a lot of the stuff we purchase for better results are just put on a shelf - never to be used. Let's face it: The shampoo doesn't do it alone! Our different techniques are equally important. Do we use conditioners, do we rinse enough, do we dry enough, do we use vinegar, do we use (human) hairtreatments.... The questions are endless. And there are no simple answers, because what works for one coat doesn't necessarily work on the next.
No matter how much shampoo I purchase I always go back to these two: JEROBS or the ANNA Cats shampoo (Through PURRINLOT cattery). Both I find to be the best for either everyday baths or the showbaths.
The only advice I can think of that MIGHT be an advice others can use for something, is that ANY SHAMPOO SHOULD BE DILUTED WITH WATER! I never got one single good result using the shampoos full strength. Even if it's written clearly on the bottles that it should be diluted, I didn't dilute in the beginning. Guess I believed that if I didn't dilute, then the result would be even better ("the more the better......"), but only when I dilute I get the best results. Not diluting will dry out the coats. Or at least.....that's my experience.
Bathed four kittens today..... will now go and do three more. |

Pointed Exotics
Saturday, 12th September 2009 - 14:20
It's a difficult breed in the sense that obtaining the ultimate Persian head- and bodytype AND the deep eyecolour at the same time is almost impossible. However the joy is so much bigger when it really happens. It takes time and it definately takes patience. But it can be done!
Today I had an inquiry for a TOP-SHOW pointed Exotic. I have wonderfull CPC Exotic kittens right now, but no pointed ones. The people asked me if I could recommend other catteries who has nice pointed Exotics. Two catteries stands out from the rest of us in regard to the pointed Exotics: COMPRI and LAUREDEN. There may be others, but these two are the ones I know have the "star-quality", and also the people behind Compri and Laureden are some of the most honest and straight forward persons. Again: There might be others...... Most lightly there are. But I find it hard to recommend or give references on people or catteries I don't know.
GC NW Laureden Abby Lynn is the first pointed Exotic to make a NW, and this fabulous kitten is out of GC Compri Augustine x GC Laureden Magically Delicious. As I always say to people when they ask for the recipe for quality: It's all a question of what's in the pedigree. And if Compri or Laureden is in the pedigree, then You're heading for succes! |

New litter on the ground
Thursday, 10th September 2009 - 21:41
Molly had 7 kittens. All are doing great, and as always she's just lying there curled around them. Not drinking. Not eating... Just enjoying being a mother. Again. Food and water must be served to her in the bed, otherwise I'm afraid she will starve. And she doesn't even stand up to eat or drink when I serve her food. She's just lying there eating and drinking out of the side of her mouth, afraid of disturbing her babies. 7 is too much.... for sure! I know already that in three weeks bottles, powdered goatsmilk and napkins will be all over the place. Normally I tubefeed when I have kittens that needs a little extra, but a couple of litters ago I tried with a normal bottle, and all the kittens went beserk:-) I fed them for 4 weeks, and it was actually fun to watch them getting bigger and bigger lying there in my palms. Goats milk are a miracle, and I still use it although so many warned me against it. Never found out the reasons why I shouldn't use it, and I don't need the reasons 'cause it's in my household to stay. As with anything else: If it works for you (and the kittens), then my best advice is: GO USE IT!
For some reason it's not possible to purchase Powdered Goats milk here in Denmark. REVIVAL ANIMAL HEALTH (www.revivalanimal.com) has it!

Alomi's Marquis Macon is now in his new home - in the US.
Saturday, 29th August 2009 - 10:55
Shipped him the day before yesterday, and again I promise myself not to keep a kitten for that long. My comfort is that he is in a very, very nice home with wonderfull people with whome I've had a great correspondance right from the day they inquired on Marquis.
He's a very, very nice cat..... I truly believe he will do great in the showhalls in the region he is in, however I don't know the competition he's going to have. OH!.... I'll put him in the Gallery very, very soon. And I hope his new owners will have some professional pics taken when they start to show him.

Expecting a new litter any minute.
Saturday, 29th August 2009 - 10:47
Alomi's Oh! L'Amour ("Molly") is expecting. Think she will have a BIG litter this time, since she looks as if she swallowed a football. Because of her big belly she has a hard time cleaning herself, but I help her as much as I can, and as much as she will allow me to. Well, she's "daddy's baby", and I thank the "upper forces" every day for blessing me with her. Super cat, super mum, super to have around......
As a breeder I always worked with the idea that I would never let any of my females stay with me forever, since I believe they deserve and are better of with being spoiled rotten by people who can give them love and attention much more than I can (having between 7-10 cats all the time + litters/kittens does make it very difficult to give the 100% love and attention that each individual needs and deserves.) However, Molly is going no-where...... ever! I tell myself all the time that she can't breath if I'm not near her; Guess I'm the one with breathing-problems:-)

Working on my new Website - Designed by Jim Andersen/A true Master Of The Web.
Saturday, 29th August 2009 - 10:36
Anxious to get it launched, but decided to wait untill the pedigees are filled in. Also I feel I have to be a little more familiar with this new look, and also practice how to update. Had the old page for so many years, and changing design is strange. However I really do like every single idea Jim/Web Designer came up with. Hhhhhmmmmm..... wonder what my fellow catfriends and -breeders will think about this brand new site.
Wish I had been better to take pics. Now I need them, more than ever. The site would have been so much prettier and for some more informative, if the pictures used had been taken by a professional. Well, I'm no CHANAN, however I must do something in order to get some quality in the picture archive.
Another thing I decided is to use this "News" page as a sort of "Alomi-twitter". Lately an Alomi Facebook site was launched, but keeping both FB and this "News" page up to date will take too much time. Guess I'll close down the FB site when this site is finished and ready for friends and visitors.
