HistoryLocated in Copenhagen/Denmark Alomi was founded and registered in FIFE in 1979. Since January 2005 Alomi is exclusively CFA registered. For 11 years I were in the judging program as an International FIFe judge, but due to family and job commitments I decided to retire from the judgingprogram in 2002.
Concentrating on my breedingprogram the main goal for me is to produce healthy, affectionate kittens and to keep on the tradition of the breeders that entrusted me with their lines. I thank them for being the reason why my program has produced several BIS-winners, GRC, RW, NW and DM cats in both CFA and FIFe.
My house is currently ruled by only 7 breeding cats, 4 females and 3 males. When you scroll through the Exotics-, Himalayans and Persians pages of this website you will find more cats presented. This is due to the fact that most of my breeding stock is being loved and owned by close friends and family....Under my strict supervision, off course :-) Being a breeder faces you with many challenges and considerations. Keeping the number of cats down is one of my challenges, and therefore I feel blessed to have a big family and many catlovers among my friends. A big THANK YOU to each and every one of you!
The cats pictured at this website are cats that either has been or still are in my breedingprogram. Some of them are in their new forever homes.
Himalayans are my first priority and has always been. Occasionally I have litters of Pointed Exotics and Persians. Some of the lines I currently use are: Compri, Boberan, Maradan, Mandrake, Keystone (DK), Sandypaws, TEAHS, Jetset, Tallin and Countrygal. I don't "mix'em all", but selectively breed for wide-open expressions and chunky bodies. I'm currently focused on - some would say obsessed with - earset and eyesize, and I do get some very nice kittens these days. The perfect kitten is yet to be born:-)....However, I do sell my very best (check the Gallery of this website - all cats/kittens there are sold to or placed with others).
I don't keep a waitinglist. I believe in selecting a special home for the special kitten. If you are looking for a kitten from me, then I suggest you go to the KITTENS-page. If you see something you think is what you are looking for, then don't hesitate to drop me an e-mail.
When you contact me please remember to specify:
~ Who are you?
~ Where are you located?
~ Do you have a cattery/catteryname?
~ What quality are You looking for?
~ Do you intend to show?
~ Do You have any colour preference?
Please note: I do not ship pet-quality kittens.
I'm often asked for "breeder-quality" kittens, which is a term that is used frequently among breeders. My policy is that there is no Alomi kitten that fits the prefix "Breeder-quality" if this stands for a kitten of a quality between "pet" and "show".
I evaluate my kittens as being either show- or petquality, and any petquality kitten born at Alomi cattery will only go to loving and caring pethomes. Showkittens are sold with breeding rights, but no less than showquality will leave Alomi with breeding rights.
Since PKD became an issue, I've used only two PKD-positive cats in my program. Both these are now retired, and therefore I'm proud to announce that from the beginning of February 2009 all my breeding animals are PKD-negative.
Please be adviced: Cats and kittens at this site referred to as Himalayans or Persians do not carry any Exotics in the pedigree.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if I in any way can supply you with further information.
